We have some huge news to share with you. No really. It’s HUGE news! Apple recently issued a memo to all its Apple store employees that 3rd party iPhone screen repairs will no longer void warranty!
Let that sink in for a moment. It’s music to our ears as well! Previously, if you had your iPhone repaired by a 3rd party, regardless of the complexity of the repair, whether it be a screen replacement or a battery replacement, the 3rd party repair would immediately void your Apple iPhone warranty. No questions ask. But in a recent change of heart, Apple has changed its stance.
So why is this good news for you? Keep reading, and we’ll tell you!
Why Use a 3rd Party to Repair Your iPhone?
3rd party iPhone repair companies, such as us, Forever Wireless, can fix any iPhone issue that you may have, and more often than not, deliver perfect results at a cheaper rate than going directly to Apple to have your iPhone repaired. No matter what the issue is, Forever Wireless can now fix your iPhone screen without fear of voiding your phone’s warranty. Additionally, we have access to the best repair parts and products on the market. If you were to go to Apple to have your iPhone screen repaired, they would only use select parts. Even though these parts are the correct replacement parts for your iPhone, they tend to be more expensive than what Forever Wireless can provide. So when you need your iPhone screen repaired, the best option is to have your repair completed by Forever Wireless.

Doesn’t AppleCare Cover all iPhone Damages?
The short answer is no. A newly purchased iPhone comes with a 1-year hardware repair warranty (AppleCare). However, AppleCare is considered a Limited Warranty, meaning that not all damage to your phone is covered. What’s not covered you ask? Some damages that AppleCare does not cover:
- iPhone Battery
- Cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, etc.)
- Broken ports
- Damage caused by an accident
- Defects caused by ‘normal wear and tear’
- And more
So what is covered under this warranty? Apple states, “Apple Inc. of One Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, U.S.A. 95014 (“Apple”) warrants the Apple-branded iPhone, iPad, iPod or Apple TV hardware product and the Apple-branded accessories contained in the original packaging (“Apple Product”) against defects in materials and workmanship when used normally in accordance with Apple’s published guidelines for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of original retail purchase by the end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”). Apple’s published guidelines include but are not limited to information contained in technical specifications, user manuals, and service communications.”
That statement is pretty vague and also applies to the extended warranty you can purchase after the 1-year hardware repair warranty expires. In short, AppleCare doesn’t cover your most common damages. However, Forever Wireless can repair your iPhone screen damage.
